This Week at Davidson Farmers Market: October 10
Come on out to the Farmers Market on Saturday and don’t forget to follow the rules, and the arrows.
Hello DFM Shoppers,
It is hard to believe, but we’re already planning for 2021! Courtney and I are working to make the new year a better, brighter year at the market than years past. We’re brainstorming how to bring back market favorites like: live music, demos, and educational programs in a safe and healthy environment. We’re also working on how to support our non-profit friends at market and provide opportunities for our young entrepreneurs. We have tons of ideas and are very excited for the new year.
But, our first step to making DFM a great market is building our 2021 vendor list –– without vendors there wouldn’t be a market. We are now accepting vendor applications for 2021! DFM is a producer-only, local market that accepts vendors who reside and produce items within 100 miles of Davidson. We look for produce and meat, dairy and cheese, plants and flowers, beauty and wellness, speciality food items, prepared foods, food trucks, beverage, baked goods, and more.
We open applications once a year and accept all vendors for the following season. We spread the news by word of mouth, vendor reference, and approach vendors we think might be a good fit. We also rely on our shoppers to tell us what they would like to see at the market. If you have any vendor suggestions, please do not hesitate to let us know –– we’re always looking for new items to add to the market.
If you’re interested in becoming a DFM vendor in 2021, please download and complete the application. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, December 1st. If you know of a vendor who you think would be a great fit, share the application with them or let us know.
As for the rest of this year; keep a close eye on the new items showing up at the market as we head further into fall and soon winter. Plus, this year DFM is hosting THREE holiday markets in December for all your holiday shopping and dinner needs. Lots to look forward to these next couple of months!

There are tons of new items this week! Don’t miss these items available at market:
Correll Farms has the last of the season eggplant plus muscadines; Fair Share Farm has micro separates including: kale, broccoli, arugula, and radish; Gilcrest Natural Farm has beef shank and thaw & bake meatloaf; Flying Fish Seafood has shucked oysters by the pint; Batistini Farms is offering 15% off ginger EVOO and apple vinegar; and Updog Kombucha is rolling into fall with apple spice on tap!

If you choose pre-order and do not plan to shop in-person, you can skip the line and pick up your pre-order from the Market Tent (the red tent to the right of the Market entrance). Just give your name and who you pre-ordered from and our DFM volunteers will get your order for you.
PRODUCE
Barbee Farms – A variety of fresh produce
Available this week: Lots of new fall greens available this weekend! We will have all types of lettuce (green leaf, red leaf, and romaine) arugula, green kale, red kale, Tuscan kale, collards, bok choy, and Swiss Chard. To round out the fall offerings will be sweet potatoes, white potatoes, butternut, acorn, spaghetti squash and shelled peas. Don’t forget about those summer favorites that are still around: sweet corn, green beans, tomatoes (heirloom and red), zucchini, and cucumbers! There will be many varieties of peppers including sweet bells, sweet banana, poblano, and jalapeno. Don’t forget to pick up some farm fresh eggs!
To Know: At our Davidson Market vending site, customers will be able to choose their own produce after proper hand sanitization. We will not be offering online ordering this weekend for Davidson market pick up but will have staff available to assist you with your shopping if requested.
