Crockpot Beef & Broccoli
Serves 4
Ingredients
1 lb. Gilcrest stir fry beef*
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup soy sauce or tamari
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons cornstarch or tapioca starch
4 tablespoons sauce (from the crockpot after meat is cooked)
2-3 cups fresh or frozen broccoli florets (as many as desired)**
Directions
In the insert of the crockpot, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, dark brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic. Place your sliced beef in the liquid and toss to coat. Turn crockpot on low and cook for 4 hours.
After 4 hours, remove 4 tablespoons of liquid from the crockpot and whisk in the cornstarch, making a slurry. Add the slurry to the crockpot and stir to mix well.
Add broccoli on top and cook on low for an additional 30 minutes to thicken up the sauce and steam broccoli. Serve warm over hot rice.
