Confession: We have a bit of Red and Black bias in our NOD editorial ranks, so we offer plenty of great stories about the college that was here before the Town. To wit, for our second installment of Editors’ Choice—our way to celebrate and signify News of Davidson’s three years and counting—Margo Williams, Co-Managing Editor, selects our Sports Editor Jane Campbell’s wonderful 2017 story about the Davidson Baseball’s thrilling season, and the first championship victory in the 115-year history of Wildcat baseball.

Since News of Davidson went live in September 2017, we’ve posted over 2,000 news stories and column contributions, and literally uncountable calendar events (until Covid slowed the pace). Our stories celebrate local sports, sure, but also neighbors, nonprofits, events, and businesses, and we share hundreds of beautiful community images.

We’ll reach into our brief but busy history about once a week through the end of 2020, partly as a way to spread a little joy when we all can use some, and yes, to encourage your support for  the work we love to do.
