Hello DFM Shoppers,
Happy (early) Halloween! We’re coming close to the end of this year –– two months, but who’s counting? –– and we’ve been pretty creative keeping ourselves entertained during quarantine and adapting plans and traditional celebrations to accommodate a pandemic. Halloween this year is no exception, we have to be creative. In my house, we’re bringing trick or treat inside. Hiding candy in every room behind a “locked” door that my son has to say the magic words for the doors to unlock for him to get in and find the candy. After that, it’s a marathon of classic kid-friendly Halloween movies, eating candy, wearing our costumes, and enjoying a “witch’s stewed brew” (its beef stew).
It might be over the top, but don’t we all deserve it by now?
If you’re stumped and have no clue what to do for Halloween this year, start the day visiting the market. We’re embracing it and will be there in full Halloween spirit. You can find all the ingredients you need to make a special fall holiday dinner plus seasonal desserts from any of our three bakery vendors. You can even find last-minute decorations if needed at our flower vendors (they have dried flowers).
We hope that we can bring some Halloween fun to your Saturday morning this weekend and are excited to celebrate with you!
Reminder, DFM is now accepting 2021 Vendor Applications. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please read the guidelines and submit your application to me by Tuesday, December 1. You can find the guidelines and application, here.

If you choose pre-order and do not plan to shop in-person, you can skip the line and pick up your pre-order from the Market Tent (the red tent to the right of the Market entrance). Just give your name and who you pre-ordered from and our DFM volunteers will get your order for you.
PRODUCE
Barbee Farms – A variety of fresh produce
Available this week: No tricks at Barbee Farms this weekend, only treats! We will have green onions, lettuce, broccoli, kale, cabbage, spinach, collards, bok choy, Swiss Chard, and beets. To round out the fall offerings will be sweet potatoes, white potatoes, butternut, spaghetti squash, shelled peas and October beans. Don’t forget about those summer favorites that are still around: green beans, tomatoes (heirloom, red and Roma), bell peppers and jalapenos! Don’t forget to pick up some farm fresh eggs!
To Know: At our Davidson Market vending site, customers will be able to choose their own produce after proper hand sanitization. We will not be offering online ordering this weekend for Davidson market pick up but will have staff available to assist you with your shopping if requested.
