Town Awarded Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting
The Town of Davidson is pleased to announce that the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has once again awarded Davidson the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
Davidson Town Manager Jamie Justice notes “the efforts of Finance Director Piet Swart and his team Katherine Faust and Liam Kirwan have been commendable, leading the Town of Davidson to receive this well-earned recognition. We are gratified to offer such a high level of clear and transparent financial reporting to our community.”
