Police Department Launches Annual Angel Tree

by | Nov 26, 2020 | Local, News, Top Middle Box, Town Information

Town Hall from Holidays past. Please don’t let COVID keep you from supporting the Angel Tree – online this year.

The Davidson Police Department is currently kicking off its annual Angel Tree Program, a tradition which spans more than twenty years.

“We are able to continue this program because of the generosity and care of the Davidson Police Department, Davidson residents, local centers of worship, and Davidson businesses who support us in this endeavor,” said Chief of Police Penny Dunn, “Even though COVID-19 changes the way the Angel Tree Program works this year, we still have every confidence that we’ll be able to provide support for local families and their children.”

Town hall remains closed to the public, and in order to prevent and minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Angel Tree Program will largely be coordinated by phone and email.  Those interested in participating, either by becoming a sponsor or by making a monetary donation, can contact the Davidson Police Department at 704-892-5131 during normal business hours.

So that designated police staff have ample time to match sponsors with children, and sponsors have enough time to both purchase and drop off their gifts, the deadline to sign up to participate is December 11, 2020.

For more information on the Angel Tree, please call 704-892-5131 or visit us at www.townofdavidson.org/angeltree
