Thank You, Thank You, Thank You – to all the donors, supporters and volunteers who assisted with this year’s Christmas Box Project.
Operation North State delivered care boxes to N.C. Veterans who live alone or in care/nursing facilities.
We packed and delivered 800 boxes to shut-in veterans throughout North Carolina. We have donated 12 -15 car loads of leftover goodies to veterans organizations to be used at veterans facilities throughout the state and/or to make up hundreds of additional holiday care packages.
Next year, we will grow the project another 200 boxes. So, be making plans as to how you can assist once again in 2021. Note: It was such an honor and eye-opener to know how many veterans are living in “shut-in” conditions in our respective communities. They are already asking to be considered for our 2021 gift box project. Operation North Sate looks forward to providing assistance to these veterans when financial resources allow us to do so.
We met three veterans ages 102, 103 and 104 and had a 20-minute phone conversation with one lady veteran living at the coast near Calabash. Veterans we spoke with regarding to the project, asked us to thank our supporters and volunteers for the generous gifts and for remembering them at the holidays.
