Women’s Soccer Holds Virtual Event for Fans and Alumni

by | Jan 12, 2021 | News, Sports

The Davidson Women’s Soccer team will be hosting an online event this week, but who can forget pre-COVID gatherings.

The Davidson women’s soccer team will connect with its alumni and fans this week.

The Wildcats, in partnership with the Davidson Athletic Fund, are hosting a virtual gathering on Zoom at 4 p.m. Wednesday, where coach Adam Denton and his staff will provide program updates.

Denton will talk about how his team adjusted in 2020 through the COVID-19 pandemic, while implementing new protocols. He’ll discuss what the team did in the spring and summer and how it transitioned to remote training and new ways of practicing, from non-contact, socially distanced workouts to, eventually, full-contact play. He’ll talk of how the team regrouped in July after learning there would be no fall season and how it is preparing for an unprecedented second-semester campaign.

More topics of discussion include the year’s changes in the academic and recruiting realms and the addition of seven players in the 2021 recruiting class.
