Mecklenburg County’s Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)

The Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services is disbursing LIEAP funds to eligible households to help with their immediate home energy needs, so they won’t have to choose between heating their homes and buying other necessities.

Qualified applicants can take advantage of this one-time, direct vendor payment in the amount of $300, $400 or $500, (depending on the primary heating source). Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2021. The pandemic’s economic impact on our communities has increased the level of urgency for this program. Please share this information with residents who could benefit from these funds. 

Flyers (in English and Spanish), which include details on criteria and how to apply are provided below. Individuals who are homebound or unable to mail or drop off applications can call 704-336-3000 to complete the application by phone.
