Your Best Shot: Atrium Health, Davidson College Experts Offer Insights on National COVID Vaccination Campaign

Atrium Health and Davidson College will pull back the curtain on the science and strategy behind the COVID-19 vaccine campaign on Tuesday, February 23, at 5 p.m. Experts from both institutions will zoom in on key questions, including those from the audience. The panel includes recognized, national experts in COVID-19 antibody treatments, pediatric immunology and how vulnerable populations can have equal access to the vaccine.

The live panel, held via Zoom, is free and open to the public, and audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions. The event features:

  • James Crowe ’83, Director of the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center
  • Sallie Permar ’97, Professor and Chair of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medicine and Pediatrician-in-Chief at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center
  • Dave Wessner, Professor of Biology at Davidson College
  • Janelle White, Medical Director of Community Health at Atrium Health and a pediatrician with Atrium Health Levine Children’s University Pediatrics

The discussion will be moderated by Kata Chillag, Chair of Davidson’s new Department of Public Health, Hamilton McKay Professor in Biosciences and Human Health and former scientist for the CDC and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
