Take Us on a Garden Tour!

When we thanked you in January for supporting and reading News of Davidson—especially during the challenges of pandemic life—we promised to share and celebrate every positive sign of brighter days to come. Well, they have come.

In the past week, we told you about the Town’s vaccine clinic at Ada Jenkins Community Center—an invaluable sign of better days ahead. In our homepage photo stream, we shared the colorful signs of spring flowering in Margo and Bill Williams’ lovely yard, captured last week by our photographer, Bill Giduz. And we celebrate the 26 artists—from elementary students to retirees—who created banners prompted by the Town Public Arts Commission’s request for original designs in response to national and local events, both tragic and inspiring.

We will keep our promise to celebrate these brighter moments, and we invite you to help. Remind us of signs of recovery, and send us pictures from your gardens, window boxes, and containers on your porch or deck. (If you don’t take pictures but love your garden, let us know, and we’ll dispatch a NOD photographer.)

We’ll share them right here to reassure ourselves and you that the sun is rising earlier, setting later, warming us and our gardens with an invitation to be happily outdoors.

Have a distanced lunch, dinner, or drink with a friend.

Read on your patio, feet up.

Mask up for a neighborhood walk or an adventurous hike.

And when April moves gently into May, stop to smell the roses.
