This Week at DFM: March 6

by | Mar 4, 2021

Construction is underway on the “Downtown Gathering Space,” but Davidson Farmers Market is still “ON” this Saturday.

Hello DFM Shoppers,

We’re back for another beautiful (almost spring) Saturday! I can’t believe it, but there are only THREE Winter Markets left before we open in April for our full season. Opening Market is Saturday, April 3, and we will be welcoming 36 vendors with a total of NINE new vendors. We are very excited for this season, offering the most selections DFM has had in 13 years. Until then, we have a few weeks left to enjoy the beautiful supply of goods and produce our winter vendors have to offer.

When shopping this weekend, and the weekends to follow, take the time to stop at each vendor and start a conversation with them about their business and the many things they have. Most vendors at DFM have more than just what you see displayed and many offer a variety of things like produce, meat, speciality items, and prepared foods under the umbrella of their business. Our vendors are talented, hard working purveyors and genuine ambassadors for producing local goods and operating small businesses. This is why I love DFM, its our vendors and the relationships between them and our shoppers that are made.

This week when attending DFM please be aware that there is construction happening in the common space near us. The construction is part of the Town of Davidson’s improvement plans for the plaza and are expected to last only a few weeks. Some of the sidewalks are temporarily blocked off, but there are still pathways to enter the market. DFM’s entrance will still be located in the same place (at the top of the Jackson Street Parking Lot behind Summit Coffee). Please be mindful of the surrounding area and know that construction will not be happening while the market is operating.

Happy eating,

Justin
