DAVIDSON, N.C. – Natalie Silberman’s golden goal in the 93rd minute lifted George Washington over Davidson 1-0 in Atlantic 10 women’s soccer action Sunday afternoon at Alumni Stadium.

The Wildcats, who controlled a majority of the possession and finished with a 12-7 advantage in shots, fall to 4-2-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the league.

“When we have periods when we’re controlling the game, we have to make that count so it doesn’t get to that position in overtime because one goal wins it,” said coach Adam Denton. “If you have opportunities early in the game, that’s something you want to make the most of. It’s disappointing, but also we can take some positives from the performance.”

Silberman’s game-winner and fifth strike of the campaign came from about 25 yards out when she curled a blast just inside the far post and out of the reach of Davidson’s Mary Grace Bunch.

In addition to their 12-7 margin in attempts, the Wildcats put six shots on frame.
