“AROUND” Town Day on Saturday, May 1

Editors’ note: News of Davidson is excited about plans for Around Town Day and proudly reminds our readers that we welcome support of our mission to serve the community with news and events—from all around town.
 

Volunteer Sign-ups Now Open Online

 
DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Town of Davidson invites the community to register for one of the “Around” Town Day service projects or to create a service project in their own neighborhood. The town is partnering with Davidson Lands Conservancy and TreesDavidson to offer multiple service projects around town on Saturday, May 1 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. A Lake Davidson shoreline clean-up, Kincaid Trail greenway/stream clean-up and Plum Creek Park tree care and greenway/stream clean-up are open for volunteer registration. These events will follow COVID guidelines, and pre-registration is required. To sign up, please visit: http://www.townofdavidson.org/townday
 

Many thanks go out to the following groups for participating with planned service projects: Rotary Club of Davidson, Cub Scout Pack 58, Scout BSA Troop 58, La Escuelita Bilingual Preschool, Girl Scouts, Tarheel Trailblazers, Davidson Lands Conservancy, TreesDavidson, and the Hobbs Hill Neighborhood.  Some of their projects include Parham Park shoreline clean-up, Fisher Farm Mountain Biking Trail maintenance, “Spring-ification” at the Ada Jenkins Center, Beaty Park clean-up and more. 

A special thank you to Mecklenburg County Stormwater and Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful for their support in the “Around” Town Day clean-up efforts.
