Longstanding Vet Hospital in Davidson Expands to New Quarters
On Thursday, April 8, Dr. Dick Hay and his team at TotalBond Veterinary Hospital moved into a brand-new, modern, veterinary facility on Highway 115, less than a mile from their previous location on Griffith Street.
The 3,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility is three times the size of the original hospital, which opened in 1999. This major expansion will allow the hospital to accept more patients, increase appointment capacity, and offer new diagnostic services.
Even though the original facility was small, TotalBond has long been known for exceptional veterinary care, and Dick Hay—a Davidson alumnus— has a strong connection to the Davidson
community. After 22 years on Griffith Street, he saw a need to help even more of the dogs and cats that he and his team know and love.
“Our main goal is to provide top-notch care for our patients and do our best to keep their stress levels at a minimum,” he said.
“This expansion will let us provide inhouse hospitalization and better diagnostic testing with immediate results. Our new dental and surgery suites will allow us to expand our capabilities without referring as many cases. Overall, we can better live up to our motto, ‘Relationships Make the Difference.’”
Dick, who is board-certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, is the co-owner of TotalBond Davidson and has practiced veterinary medicine for more than 30 years. The new location is part of the TotalBond Veterinary Hospital family, which has five locations in North and South Carolina, including animal hospitals in Forestbrook, Riverbend, Paw Creek, and Bethel.
TotalBond Davidson serves all dog and cat needs, from puppies and kittens to senior pets in the Davidson area. The team offers premier preventative care, diagnostic imaging, in-house laboratory services, dental care, and general and advanced surgical procedures.
TotalBond Davidson has earned several prestigious certifications, including an accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association, Fear-
Free Staff Certification, and Low-Stress Handling training. This accreditation means clients are in the best and most experienced care of veterinary professionals, who will ensure a safe, low-stress experience that caters to a pet’s unique emotional and physical needs.
