Town Asks Residents to Take Historic Preservation Plan Survey

by | Apr 11, 2021

Please take the time to share your thoughts.

The Town of Davidson has prioritized historic preservation since 1989 when the Davidson Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) and the first historic district were established. Historic preservation goals were reinforced last year with the 2020 adoption of the Davidson Comprehensive Plan.

For the next six weeks, Davidson residents are invited to offer their feedback into a town-wide Historic Preservation Plan.  The plan will develop community-based strategies to protect and celebrate Davidson’s historic resources and their contributions to the community’s quality of life.  It will also serve as a guide for proactive preservation decision-making for the next 10-15 years, synthesizing the town’s existing preservation efforts with the community input during the planning process.  In addition to the current survey, there will be virtual opportunities to provide input in the coming months, including the biennial citizen survey.

To participate in the Historic Preservation Plan survey, please click here. The survey solicits perspectives on neighborhoods and other historic areas and resources and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete. The results of the survey will be used to evaluate the community’s goals and concerns and as well as set priorities among the plan’s recommendations.
