This Week at DFM: April 17

by | Apr 15, 2021

Davidson Farmers’ Market is open – with a variety of COVID-19 restrictions in place.

Hello DFM Shoppers,

We’re getting close to construction being completed! This Saturday, you’ll notice less fencing, which will allow more accessibility to the market. By the end of this month, construction will be completed and DFM can move back to our former layout in the newly renovated gathering space. Please keep an eye out for our new map and signage.

This week our vendors have a variety of spring items: asparagus, strawberries, flowers, and delicious seasonal baked goods and prepared foods. As the weather continues to warm up, consider finding proteins at the market for grilling.

A few reminders, several of our vendors offer pre-order options. Listed in the vendor weekly offerings (further down in the newsletter) identifies which vendors offer this service with PO next to their name. This is a great option to purchase limited items that run out quickly in the first hour of the market. We have a third row of vendors while construction continues, if you can’t find a specific vendor just ask one of our Green Team volunteers and they will be happy to assist you.

Happy eating,

Justin

Market Hours & Info

Prime Market hours are 9:00am – Noon, EVERY Saturday, located behind Summit Coffee on Main Street in the Jackson Street parking lot and surrounding area.

With construction happening around The Davidson Farmers Market, we have removed the barriers, entrance, and two exits to allow more space for social distancing while shopping. We kindly ask that shoppers wait until the market opens at 9am before entering and shopping (listen for the bell). Vendors will not sell to shoppers prior to 9am.

IMPORTANT 2021 DATES:

Prime Market Season April 3 – November 20

Holiday Markets December 11 & 18

To enter the market, shoppers must wear a mask. If any condition prevents you from wearing a mask, our volunteers will gladly serve as your personal shopper – just meet us at the red Market Tent and give us a list, and we will enter the market for you.

All vendors, staff, and volunteers will wear masks and have hand sanitizer accessible. In addition, there will be two hand sanitizer stations in the greenspace outside of the market boundaries for shoppers to use (provided by the Town of Davidson).

Don’t miss these items available at market:

A Bright Moment has a variety of take-and-bake ravioli including: fig & Humboldt Fog cheese, spinach & ricotta, and mushroom & hazelnut. Pre-order and pick up at Batistini Farms’ booth; Peaches N’ Cream has strawberries; Heritage Harvest Farm has flowers by the bunch for pre-order: sweet pea, Icelandic poppies, ranunculus, and more;  and Fair Share Farm has gems, butter head, spring mix, micros, and radishes.
