DavidsonLearns Event: Boomerang Water

by | Apr 15, 2021

Join us on April 21 at 1:00 pm, as Jason Dribble, Shaun Zaken and Max Vierling from Boomerang Water discuss their solution to the environmental problem of single-use plastics.

Headquartered in Davidson, NC, Boomerang Water is a small batch bottling system that makes any corporate campus, college, hotel or manufacturing facility more sustainable by eliminating the need for single-use plastic water bottles. In partnership with the Town of Davidson, Boomerang launched the Davidson Sustainability Challenge in January, offering a craft water subscription service in durable glass bottles exclusively to Davidson residents and local businesses, including free delivery and pick-up, with the goal of eliminating 1 million plastic water bottles from the community in 2021.

The local LLC is the brainchild of US military veterans who became aware of the global impact of single-use plastic water bottles while on multiple deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2003-2007. More than a decade later, the team at Boomerang Water has finished development of a small batch bottling system that utilizes ultra-filtration methods to create arguably the freshest and smoothest water on the market.

In addition to eliminating unnecessary plastic consumption, Boomerang Water prides itself on its minimal total carbon footprint. The company sources water locally and utilizes sustainable bottling and packaging materials, reducing overall transportation emissions and energy consumption.
