Secret Society of Crafters – Hearts on Fiber

June 6 @ 10:00 a.m.

208 South Main Street

Crafting is more fun with other people, which is why we created the “Secret” Society of Crafters. The title says “secret,” but we’re a not-so-secret, not-so-exclusive group who meets to stitch, craft, crochet, knit, sit and talk. We may or may not talk about knitting, yarn bombing, hand dying, or the latest stitch. We may even talk about world domination. You won’t know unless you come. Connect with crafters in the area, find the motivation to pick up that project again, and benefit from the wisdom of a passionate crafting group. The “Secret” Society of Crafters meets outside the store every Wednesday and Sunday at 10:00 AM weather permitting. We hope to see you there!

Music@ St. Alban’s: Conor McMillen

June 6 @ 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm

At 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, Music at St. Alban’s (M@SA) will present (via Zoom) a Young Performer’s concert featuring a promising 13-year-old jazz violinist accompanied by his father on piano. Child prodigy and winner of several local competitions, Conor McMillen has studied at the Manhattan School of Music’s pre-college division and is now in the Jazz at Lincoln Center Middle School program. His father, Blair McMillen, a highly acclaimed concert pianist and pedagogue, has performed as soloist and chamber player and adjudicated competitions in this country and abroad. They perform here as a gift to M@SA and in recognition of their ties with this area, where parents and grandparents Bruce and Sally McMillen have long had a home. Viewers may “attend” the concert and a performer Q&A afterwards via Zoom.

Be on the lookout for links to this special event on M@SA’s web site: https://www.musicatstalbansdavidson.org/. M@SA, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is partially funded by the ASC.

Trivia Night at Summit

June 10 @ 7 p.m. –

We’re so excited to have in-person trivia back again! In order to host trivia safely, we are going to have y’all sign up on this form so we can set up tables + chairs appropriately distanced from other teams. Here’s the deal:
1. You must register in advance, otherwise we can’t guarantee your team a seat.
2. Maximum of 6 people allowed on a team
3. We will have a maximum of 14 teams for the evening.
4. We will offer table service, so you don’t have to go inside. You are welcome to place orders inside as well, but we’re adding the option to limit the amount of contact/movement you have to make.
5. Honor system for scoring – meaning you will score your own sheets so there isn’t a transfer of paper/germs from table-to-table.
6. Trivia will start at 7pm!
Please email [email protected] with any questions!!
