This Week at DFM: June 12

by | Jun 10, 2021

Do you have time to join Davidson Farmers Market’s “Lime Green Team” of volunteers?

Hello DFM Shoppers,

Part of making DFM a vibrant and friendly market for our vendors and shoppers are our amazing volunteers (the Green Team.) With their help we’re able to set-up and greet every vendor in the morning, assist shoppers, manage special events, work the Market Tent, support vendors during the market, and help clean up after the market is over. They do so much, always with a smile on their face and eager to help.

As we continue to resume our pre-Covid operations and amenities (live music, events, chef demos, etc.) we want to continue growing our Green Team and volunteer opportunities. There are several options and time slots to volunteer with DFM.

They include:

Market Set-Up – (7 – 9 a.m.)
Set up tents for vendors, deliver tables, set out signage, and assist vendors as needed.

Market Support – (9 – 10:30 a.m.)
Help with monitoring the Market by assisting shoppers, counting shoppers, and assisting Market Coordinator as needed.

Market Support – (10:30 a.m. 12 p.m.)
Help with monitoring the Market by assisting shoppers, counting shoppers, and assisting Market Coordinator as needed.

Market Takedown – (12 – 12:30 p.m.)
Assist vendors with breaking down tents, tables and signage, and returning everything to the Market shed.

If you would like to volunteer this Saturday, you can sign-up here. If you would like to learn more about volunteer opportunities or join our volunteer list, email Courtney

This week, when visiting the market, make sure to thank our volunteers!

See you all this Saturday.

Happy eating,

Justin

Market Hours & Info

Prime Market hours are 9:00 a.m. – Noon, EVERY Saturday, located behind Summit Coffee on Main Street in the Jackson Street parking lot and surrounding area.

We kindly ask that shoppers wait until the market opens at 9am before shopping (listen for the bell). Vendors will not sell to shoppers prior to 9am.

IMPORTANT 2021 DATES:

  • Prime Market Season April 3 – November 20
  • Holiday Markets December 11 & 18

DFM highly encourages shoppers to wear a mask while shopping. We are following the 2-out-3 recommendation: If outside and socially distancing, then no mask; if outside and not socially distancing, wear a mask.

All vendors, staff, and volunteers will continue to wear masks and have hand sanitizer accessible.

Don’t miss these items available at market:

Twin Oak Farms has a limited supply of strawberries, plus bell peppers, banana peppers, and first of the season green beans; Peaches n’ Cream has blackberries and peaches; How Sweet It Is! has pound cake for your fresh peaches, blackberries, and strawberries; and A Bright Moment has a variety of homemade ravioli for pre-order.

Vendors away this week: Liberty Farm & Creamery

If you choose pre-order and do not plan to shop in-person, you can skip the line and pick up your pre-order from the red Market Tent. Just give your name and who you pre-ordered from and our DFM volunteers will get your order for you.
