Earth Fare Davidson: Grand Opening

by | Jun 15, 2021

And with that – the red ribbon was cut at the grand opening of Earth Fare Davidson.

Last Wednesday Earth Fare Davidson opened their doors. Check out just a few of our photos from the event.

Now some might have questioned having a ribbon cutting before 8:00 a.m. on a midweek summer’s morning, but any questions were quickly dismissed by the line of people that had already formed before 7:30 a.m. It turns out there were plenty of reasons people were there to celebrate the big event.

For some, it was simply the opportunity to see the doors of a familiar storefront in town re-opened. Indeed, the store had originally been the home to a Food Lion and most recently the Farm2Family Healthy Home Market.

For others, the new Earth Fare offered something completely new – employment for a teenaged child. The proud parent extolled the fact that in addition to what most might consider employee training – Earth Fare had spent time talking to all their future employees about healthy eating. For the cohort of teenaged friends, it was an important discussion. Earth Fare prides itself in their mission “to improve lives by making healthy food available to everyone.”

And when the time came last Wednesday, Mayor Rusty Knox and members of the Earth Share leadership spoke briefly about what the grand opening meant.

Earth Fare CEO Dennis Hulsing noted that while this was the 22ndEarth Fare store, the store in Davidson is the first store to be opened in a previous occupied storefront.

And with the series of brief remarks, Mayor Knox and store manager David cut the big red ribbon, and shoppers flowed into the store like a wave.

Everyone who shopped that day received an Earth-friendly, Earth Fare reusable shopping bag filled with goodies.

Just remember, now that the doors are open, they are open seven days a week: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
