NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The Atlantic 10 Conference’s women’s basketball pairings have been set for the upcoming 2021-22 season, the league office announced Thursday.

Each of the conference’s 14 teams will play a 16-game slate, meeting three opponents both at home and away, while also playing five league foes strictly at home and five solely on the road.

The Davidson Wildcats, who joined the A-10 during the 2014-15 academic year, will battle Fordham, Saint Joseph’s and George Washington in a home-and-home series this season.

Additionally, the ‘Cats will play host to Massachusetts, Duquesne, George Mason, VCU and Dayton on the newly renovated McKillop Court inside Belk Arena, while traveling to Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, Richmond, La Salle and Saint Louis.

Under head coach McKillop Court, Davidson is 30-33 (.476) in Atlantic 10 play, dating back to the 2017-18 season. The ‘Cats return 81 percent of its scoring from a season ago, including rising seniors Chloe Welch, Cassidy Gould and Sarah Konstans who combined for 31.9 points per game in their junior season. Welch led the Wildcats, and was atop the A-10 in scoring, averaging 16.2 points per game through 16 games played, while Konstans led the team in rebounding, averaging 6.3 boards per game, including two double-double performances.
