DAVIDSON — A few months after competing in the spring, it’s back to the fall for Davidson’s fall sports, and the calendar is filling up.

On Tuesday, the Wildcats released schedules for field hockey, men’s and women’s soccer and volleyball, with season openers now a month away and exhibitions prior to that.

Davidson football, fresh off a Pioneer Football League championship, announced its schedule in June, and will open the season Saturday, Sept. 4 at VMI.

Women’s soccer, which reached the Atlantic 10 championship game in April, is the first team to get started this fall, opening Thursday, Aug. 19 at home against Gardner-Webb.

Men’s soccer will open the 2021 campaign a week later at Alumni Stadium, hosting High Point on Thursday, Aug. 26.

Volleyball’s season gets underway Friday, Aug. 27 in Belk Arena against N.C. Central.

And field hockey enters play Saturday, Aug. 28 against Indiana in a two-day event at Central Michigan, with its home opener set for Sunday, Sept. 12 against Bellarmine.

Tickets on sale
Davidson plans to allow fans at 100 percent capacity for the upcoming season.

Admission is free to all home field hockey, women’s soccer and volleyball contests.
