Wildcats Dibble and Jones Earn Academic Honors
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Drew Dibble and Michael Jones of the Davidson men’s basketball team have been named to the 2020-21 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, which recognizes student-athletes in all NCAA divisions and the NAIA, who excelled in academics during the past season.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2020-21 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I institution with a NABC member coach.
A computer science major and rising senior from Nashville, Tenn., Dibble appeared in five games a year ago.
Jones, who played in all 22 games last season, while scoring in double figures three times, is a red-shirt junior from Woodbury, Minn., that majors in Mathematics.
Coming off its 18th postseason appearance under head coach Bob McKillop, Davidson finished the abbreviated 2020-21 campaign 13-9 overall and third in the Atlantic 10 standings with a 7-4 conference mark.
