News From Davidson Provision Company

 

Here at Davidson Provision Company, one of our favorite aspects of the store is the “back door” that leads out to the area surrounding the Farmers Market. If you have lived in Davidson for some time, you would know that this door has been basically closed for many years.  Once we secured the location for our retail store we made sure this back door became a focal point for our retail operation. This backdoor allows the community to access retail from either Main Street or the back area. We have a lot of pride in the fact that our back door is truly a connector between two parts of Davidson.

 

This area, known as the “Downtown Gathering Area,” has seen many improvements in the last couple years including the wonderful town grant project along with Summit’s continued investment in their outdoor area. This is a special part of town that has seen tremendous growth with improved seating, surface areas and enhanced music offerings from Summit Coffee. If you have ever spent time in this area, you know how important it is for organic community gatherings for both adults and children.  It is not only bustling during Farmer’s Markets but can also hold quite the crowd on a Friday or Saturday night. Maybe Davidson isn’t so sleepy after all?

 

Davidson Provision Company is lucky to be the “new kid on the block” with direct access to this area and we plan to start making investments. We just recently purchased a cornhole set as a gift to the community. Our hope is that we can do our part to make the improved downtown gathering area fun and active for the community.  Our plan is to continue to work with the town and continue our investment into this new and growing area. There is also a grassy area behind our store, which in our mind has unlimited potential.  We look forward to contuininng to add to this area as a thank you for all the community has given us.
