Hello DFM Shoppers, 

I have big news to share with everyone. After 3 seasons, a pandemic, construction, and raising a newborn now toddler, I’m moving to Columbia, SC for an exciting career opportunity. I have enjoyed my time with DFM and am delighted every week seeing it grow and grow despite the many unexpected challenges we’ve faced together –– it shows how amazing the DFM community is. I have loved getting to know everyone: shoppers, vendors, donors, board members, volunteers, and partners. Working alongside you all to celebrate our small, family-owned farms and businesses in our community as been a highlight. I will truly miss being part of DFM but know it will be in good hands for the years to come. 

This isn’t goodbye right now! The plan is to finish this season while at the same time finding a new Market Director and training them; helping them acclimate to DFM and ensuring knowledge is passed and relationships are established. 

Here is what to expect: 

• The job description is now open to applicants (see here);  
• Applications close early September and interviews begin; 
• By end of September the position will be filled; 
• Train for the full month of October; 
• The first week of November the new Market Director takes the lead and I say my goodbyes.

I’ll save my thanks in my last newsletter, until then I look forward to seeing everyone at the Market on Saturdays and working together as we head into my favorite time for the Market, fall!
