Do You Know About the Vine Society?

by | Aug 25, 2021

This meeting of the Vine Society was held in the large entry space at The Hurt Hub.

The Vine Society is a great opportunity to learn more about your favorite wines.

The Davidson Village Inn is family-owned and operated by Mariano and Caroline Doble, career hoteliers who have always dreamed of returning to their hospitality roots after years of corporate assignments in the Caribbean and Latin America. When they purchased the Inn in 2018, they could not have foreseen what the pandemic would do to the hospitality industry.

The Inn is now back to its pre-pandemic activity levels, but during the pandemic, Mariano decided to start a new venture, which is a bonus to both the community and guests at the Inn: Vine Society, a wine-centric experience platform to help wine enthusiasts Connect, Learn & Share.

Vine Society is a “community,” not a “club.” There is no membership fee – you simply belong by being active. Vine Society hosts events each month that enable participants to “take their relationship with wine to the next level.”  These wine events are a way for wine enthusiasts to gather in an approachable and fun setting. Originally, the events were held at the Inn, but as demand has grown, they are also being held at The Hurt Hub. Events include a series of three classes (Wine Enjoyment, Wine Palate Lab, and Wine Pairings), Deep Dive Tastings, and Travel Experiences. Vine Society completed its first Wine Travel Experience to the Columbia Valley this past June.

The fun and social environment allows participants to connect, learn, and share their passion for wine, while learning about wine quality, terroirs, wine makers, grape varietals, wine making styles, and so much more. The events are led by WSET Level III professionals, Certified Sommeliers, Advanced Sommeliers, and Master Sommeliers who are passionate about approachable wine education. Another benefit is that the wine events have fostered incredible friendships among members of the community. Specific details about upcoming events, registration, and cost can be found on the Vine Society Events website.

Vine Society also offers live and virtual corporate, business, and private group events lead by Certified, Advanced and Master Sommeliers.  In addition, Vine Society has hosted two charity events to give back and support local and international organizations.

Mariano is really excited about creating something new that brings the community together – It’s all about connecting, learning, and sharing your passion for wine with like-minded wine enthusiasts.
