Labor Day Weekend is Live Music Weekend in Davidson

by | Sep 2, 2021

Singers, dancers, and musicians from area churches provide the music and dance at the annual Concert on the Green: Gospelfest.

Labor Day used to mark the end of Summer for many. However, these days schools are already back in session – whether they are in-person or virtual.

If you are staying in Davidson – take the time to enjoy some music at one of the outdoor venues around town.

Friday night you can catch Billy Jones and the Pocket at 7:00 p.m. at the Summit Stage.

Saturday includes music at multiple venues. The Town’s Concerts at the Circles event features “Shot Through The Heart” at 4:00 p.m. According to their website, the tribute band “pays homage to the music and showmanship of Bon Jovi, one of the greatest rock bands ever. . .” The concert will take place on the Jetton Street stage which is set up near Clean Juice.

Also at 4:00 p.m. you can hear the Mike Strauss Trio at the Summit Stage. Later Saturday evening, Adam Wilson will be performing at Summit from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m.

And last, but certainly not least – Sunday is Gospelfest. For many, this is the highlight of the Concert on the Green series. Vocalists and instrumental musicians from local area churches share their musical talents and are often accompanied by dancers. While all the Concerts on the Green are great, you definitely don’t want to miss this one.
