The Rotary Club of Davidson is hard at work preparing for this year’s Giving Tree Village at Christmas In Davidson. We are immersed in logistics but our first focus is YOU – the business sponsors that support our area’s best non-profits. We are taking orders starting today for the 2021 Giving Tree Village & we invite you to participate! As always, we commit to creating a memorable, festive environment allowing you to have a fully prepared fundraising opportunity for your favorite non-profit while showcasing your business during the most wonderful time of the year.  Please keep reading for all the details.

This year we have a goal of selling 75 trees & we will most likely sell out – if you are ready to sign up please go to our website Giving Tree Village Tree Sponsor Sign Up to sign up online and pay via credit card with paypal (you don’t need an account to pay online). It is very important that you both pay and fully complete the sign-up form. We cannot “hold” non-profit organizations for you—they are designated based on payment of sponsorship and a fully completed Sponsor form. If you have questions – please see further details below.

We are also looking for Giving Tree Village sponsorships. Sponsorship opportunities vary to allow your business to plug into this event in a way that fits your philanthropic & marketing goals. Sponsorship opportunities range from $1,000 to $3,500 and The Rotary Club of Davidson is looking for local business support to ensure we can give back to our community annually through our Giving Tree Village. OVERVIEW OF EVENT

The Rotary Club of Davidson Giving Tree Village is one of the most visited and popular elements of Christmas in Davidson, a 3-day event that attracts over 30,000 visitors.  All of Davidson comes alive with lights, performances, food, horse drawn carriages, carolers, crafts and so much more. The Rotary Club of Davidson works with local businesses and their partner nonprofits to create a magical wonderland filled with 75 uniquely decorated holiday trees displayed prominently on the Davidson Town Green. This year’s Christmas in Davidson will be December 2nd, 3rd & 4th, though the decorated trees will remain on the Davidson Town Green until December 10th.

Join us to ignite the giving spirit of the season in this unique service project. Last year a total of $48,000 was raised for sixty two different non-profit organizations. Our biggest year ever, even with the pandemic. With your participation, we will build on that success. Let’s make this season the brightest one yet for the thousands of people whose lives are touched by our efforts.

HOW IT WORKS

Each tree in the Giving Tree Village is sponsored by a local business that partners with a nonprofit organization of that business’s choice.  Both the business and nonprofit are prominently identified with their tree. The cost to sponsor a tree is $250, of which $100 goes directly to the partner nonprofit.

The sponsored trees become part of a contest where people have the opportunity to vote on their favorite tree/nonprofit via online voting by using the QR code attached to the decorated tree. Each vote is five dollars and the number of votes is only limited to the voters’ benevolence. Each non-profit receives every single dollar that is cast in their favor. Voting occurs exclusively from 8:00 am on December 2nd — ends at 9:00 pm on December 10th. The top 3 trees with the most votes will receive additional prize money for their non-profit. Additionally prize money will also be awarded to the nonprofit whose tree receives a Superlative designation for their decorating.
