DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson wrestling has announced its 2021-22 schedule, highlighted by a total of seven home matches, the most since the 2018-19 season.

“This year’s schedule reflects the directional growth of the team.  As our roster matured and evolved, so has our 2021-22 schedule,” Head coach Andy Lausier said. “Throughout the season we will wrestle teams or individuals from every conference across the nation, including the opportunity to host a B10 and Big IX program in Belk Arena.

“We will also wrestle in the Southern Scuffle, Hokie Open, and Patriot Open; all of which are ultra-competitive tournaments.”

The Wildcats will kick off the season with the Quad Meet between Chattanooga, Rutgers and Clarion on November 13 at the Baker Sports Complex. Davidson will follow that meet with a matchup against Big IX opponent West Virginia.

December and January feature one home meet each. Davidson faces George Mason on Dec. 19 and Franklin and Marshall on Jan. 14.

February is the busiest month for the Wildcats with three matchups. Davidson takes on two in-state opponents in Gardner-Webb and Appalachian State. Last regular season matchup for the Wildcats is a special one against Presbyterian when Davidson Wrestling hosts their Centennial Celebration celebrating 100 years of the program. More details on the celebration will be released in the coming months.

“In the end, we have great confidence that this schedule will ready us to peak when it’s most important, the Southern Conference Championships and NCAA’s,” Lausier said.
