Senior Community Connections Announces Brand Relaunch

by | Oct 14, 2021

Senior Community Connections, formerly Davidson Village Network, announced its name change and rebranding effort at a garden event at the home of Board member Beth Quinn. She and her husband, John, hosted a small outdoor gathering to celebrate the past years of success in serving members through the donated time of volunteers and to announce the organization’s name change, which better represents the mission and area served.

“Our efforts have always been geared toward communicating who we serve (older adults); where we focus (local communities and neighborhoods); and how we touch lives (by connecting people with friends, resources and activities). Our new name now reflects this,” says David Critchlow, Board President.

SCC’s mission is fundamentally focused on doing one thing: making a difference in seniors’ lives

in ways that are often unaccommodated by other means and which most people take for granted. SCC provides transportation, help around the home, social events, errands, companionship, education, interest groups, decision-support and more.

“Due to COVID – we all know now what it means to be isolated and alone,” offers Critchlow.  “Unfortunately, when the pandemic is behind us and we venture out, loneliness will remain for many older adults.” Reducing isolation and loneliness is central to SCC’s mission.

Senior Community Connections is part of a larger national effort to help seniors thrive in their own homes and communities.

Critchlow said, “By providing areas of assistance that ultimately results in a person being able to remain comfortably in their own home and community, we enable seniors to be comfortable and in control of their households, and thus, happier, healthier, and more socially engaged with the community at large.”

Senior Community Connections serves members throughout the Lake Norman region. Senior Community Connections enriches the lives of older adults, empowering them to thrive at home and in community by providing a network of trusted resources, caring support and social connectedness. SCC is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit and member of the national Village to Village movement – described by thought-leaders as one of the best ways to support seniors.
