DAVIDSON — The No. 15 field hockey team in the nation proved too much for Davidson on Sunday afternoon at Belk Turf Field, as the Wake Forest Demon Deacons picked up a 5-0 win over the Wildcats.

Deacon Hannah Maxwell scored three goals to lead the way. Eleanor Winants got Wake on the board four minutes into the second quarter, after the Davidson defense had kept the Deacons scoreless on nine shots.

Wake finished with a 25-0 shots advantage, including 18-0 on shots-on-goal, and the Deacons took 10 corners, without allowing one. Cato Roell (8) and Genna Barge (5) combined to make 13 stops.
