New Community Garden Ribbon Cutting Saturday, October 23
Flatiron and Mandolino’s recently partnered with Sara Rubens of “Seed to Sanctuary” to build a community garden on the lot behind Flatiron.The organically grown produce will be seasonal and specified by Chef Bill Schutz, and will be used in both Flatiron and Mandolino’s kitchens. However, the main purpose of the Kitchen Garden will be for the community to enjoy. The Garden will also feature a “Free Little Library,” encouraging visitors young and old to take stroll around the raised beds, sit and relax on the benches, and borrow a book from the library.
The restaurants are hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony this Saturday at 10:30 a.m., and invite the public to attend.
