DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson begins the 2021-2022 Indoor Track and Field season this weekend for the first time in 642 days. The Wildcats get things started at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener hosted by Boston University on Saturday and the College Kick-off Classic at JDL Fast Track on Sunday.

“We are excited to kick off the season,” Director of Men’s Cross Country and Track & Field Renny Waldron said. “It’s been a great fall for our program and the guys are where they need to be in respect to their training and are looking forward to competing in our first indoor meet in almost two years.”

Three Wildcats will head to Boston – juniors Ben Gordon Sniffen, Joe dos Reis and Owen Drometer. Gordon Sniffen will compete in the mile, dos Reis will run in the 3000-meter run and Drometer will compete in the 5000-meter run. The rest of the men’s team and the women’s team will be competing at the JDL Fast Track Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-off Classic.

Davidson will compete in three meets in January, two JDL Fast Track and the Patriot Games hosted by George Mason. February is go-time for the ‘Cats with three JDL meets – the Camel City Invitational, the Multi & Track Meet and the Champion College Team Challenge – in a span of six days, followed up by the BU Invitational on Feb. 12. The indoor track & field season will close out at the end of February with the A10 Indoor Championships on Feb. 27 and 28. The championships will be held in Fairfax, Va.
