Happy Almost New Year!

As we prepare to flip the calendar, we are lining up volunteers (ages 16+) for the very start of 2022:

1. Our LEARN Works Afterschool Academic Program needs classroom volunteers — for a few weeks, or for the entire spring semester. Click here to learn about Ada Jenkins Center Education Services and our volunteer opportunities, and to complete a New Volunteer Application by Monday, December 27. 
2. During Tax Season 2022, we will host two program sites for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE). Through April 15, 2022, VITA volunteers will help neighbors with incomes of $57,000 or less prepare their taxes for free! Last year, we helped 201 households prepare their tax returns at no cost — with an average household refund of $1,687. We need volunteers in several positions – some with tax knowledge, some without.
