Davidson South Street Wastewater Improvements
Project updates
(12/20/2021) – Charlotte Water is currently in the Investigation and Design phase for the project and expects to move into the construction phase by Summer 2022.
A small number of properties have been identified for a potential easement or temporary construction easement agreement along the proposed project route. An easement agreement allows CLT Water usage of part of a property owner’s land after an agreement has been reached. CLT Water representatives will contact all impacted property owners to discuss the easement acquisition process.
- Charlotte Water (CLTWater) is in the design phase for a wastewater project that will ensure ongoing service for our customers in Davidson.
- The proposed investigation route will generally run on and just east of South Street, beginning near the intersection of Concord Road and Lorimer Road and ending near the Davidson Elementary School.

Schedule
- Design Phase: Ongoing (Summer 2020 – Summer 2022)
- Construction Phase: Upcoming (Spring/Summer 2022 – Spring/Summer 2023)
- The goal of this project is to use the information gathered from the planning/investigation phase to design necessary wastewater system improvements.
Public Involvement
During this period, it may be necessary for Charlotte Water and authorized representatives’ personnel to enter upon a limited number of residential properties to access sewer manholes, perform closed-circuit television (CCTV) inspections of the existing wastewater line and conduct additional investigations as may be necessary. Their activities should not inconvenience residents in any way, and ground personnel will provide notification in advance if access to private property is required.

- Paving & site restoration after pipe installation
