Deadline Extended to Support Arts and Culture in County Budget Survey

by | Jan 3, 2022

The Davidson Public Art Commission banner project is a great example of art in our community. This piece was created by Artist Marquia Humphries.

Mecklenburg County has extended the deadline for county residents to complete the Resident Budget Priority Survey, which will be used to develop the county’s budget for FY2023. The survey will remain open until Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, and your voice is needed.

Arts and culture are a County-supported service in conjunction with community partners, including ASC, and help address community needs that align with the County’s priorities of mental health, reducing racial disparities, and ensuring geographic equity.

However, as arts and culture are not included among the eight major categories for funding priority in the County Budget survey, we encourage you – as a supporter of the arts and cultural community – to take the survey, include “Arts & Culture” as a service under “Other”, prioritize where you see fit and provide feedback on why arts and culture is important.
