LANCASTER, Pa. – Led by seniors Kyle Gorant and Mitchell Trigg, the Davidson Wildcats wrestled at the David H. Lehman Open on Friday. Both Gorant and Trigg finished the day with 2-2 split results. 

Gorant earned a bye in the first round of the 133-lb. bracket before defeating his first opponent from Brown with an 11-1 major decision and advancing to the quarterfinals. After dropping his second bout, he earned a 9-6 decision over his opponent from UNC before ultimately falling to Angelo Rini of Columbia in a 9-3 decision. 

Trigg started off the day strong, pinning his opponent from Brown in just one minute. In similar fashion to his teammate, the senior fell to a foe from West Point in his second bout before advancing on a hard-fought 2-1 decision over Karam Chakif. Trigg dropped the last match of the day to Ryan Catka from Navy, 14-7.
