Brajkovic Earns Second A-10 Player of the Week
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – For the second time this season, Davidson’s Luka Brajkovic has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
A preseason all-conference selection from Feldkirch, Austria, Brajkovic finished the week with a pair of double-doubles, averaging 19.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.
In addition, the 6-10 senior forward finished 16-of-22 (.727) from the floor, including 3-of-5 from long range, while handing out 5 assists and blocking 3 shots.
In Davidson’s 77-67 win over UMass last Tuesday, Brajkovic scored a career-high 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks. His previous high came on Dec. 21 when he scored 22 in the Wildcats’ 79-78 win over No. 10 Alabama.
He capped his week with a 13-point, 11-rebound and 5-assist effort in Davidson’s thrilling 87-84 victory at Richmond Friday evening.
For the season, Brajkovic is averaging 13.2 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He is also shooting a personal-best 58.7 percent from the floor, which is seventh among A-10 leaders.
Davidson, which is tied with Auburn for the nation’s longest win streak at 13 straight, will continue its three-game road swing Tuesday evening at VCU.
This marks the fourth time this season a Wildcat has received Player of the Week honors.
