The Wildcats – the men’s basketball Wildcats – are 16-2 on their season, and have a 15-game winning streak going.

With the win at Fordham on Saturday (69-66), the Wildcats earned a spot on the Associated Press Top 25, garnering enough votes from the 62 sportswriters and broadcasters who are polled to create the AP Top 25. Each of those polled ranks their top 25 teams, giving their top team 25 points, their #25 team one point, and the spread in between. This week, Davidson earned 139 points in that vote, and it was enough to place #25.

The ‘Cats return home Wednesday night for a match up against VCU. Last week the ‘Cats came back from a deficit to earn a 63-61 road win over the Rams. It was the smallest margin of victory for the Wildcats in two teams’ 7-year history of play. The ‘Cats and Rams have met 15 times since the Wildcats joined the A-10. VCU currently holds an 8-7 overall win record. However, the ‘Cats are 5-1 at home. One of those home wins was the most decisive win, the 82-55 victory on March 5, 2015.

And following the mid-week matchup, Men’s Basketball is back Belk Arena on Saturday for a game that might have some fans in the stands for the halftime activities.
