THE LAST TIME… Davidson and George Mason last met in February 2021 in Fairfax, Va. The Wildcats scored 17 of the game’s first 20 points, setting the tone for a dominating 68-42 victory, where Cassidy Gould recorded the first double-double of her career (17 rebounds, 11 points). That same night, mid-semester addition, Keeley Evans, made her college basketball debut.

A-10 TALK… Atlantic 10 women’s basketball is as strong as it’s ever been, as five teams currently rank in the top 100 of the NET rankings. Rhode Island checks in at #45, while UMass (#48) and Dayton (#49) round out the top-50. Fordham checks in at #59 and VCU at #92, while the Wildcats are next up at #117.

GAME REWIND… Davidson dropped a tough contest on Sunday, 70-60, to the Dayton Flyers. At 7-0 in Atlantic 10 play, the Flyers out scored the Wildcats 21-4 in the third quarter to solidify the victory, despite the Wildcats out scoring the visitors by a combined 56-49 across the first, second and fourth quarters. Adelaide Fuller scored a team-high 17 points, while Issy Morgan and Chloe Welch joined the Aussie in double-figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

BUSY, BUSY… The Davidson Wildcats are slated for another three-game week this week, starting with George Mason on Wednesday night and then taking on Saint Joseph’s for a home-and-home series on Friday, Feb. 4 in Davidson and Sunday, Feb. 6 in Philadelphia. This is the second time this season that the Wildcats will play three conference games in a five-day span.

STIFLERS… With the ‘Cats holding GW to just 37 points last week, it marked Davidson’s fewest total points allowed in an Atlantic 10 game in program history. The 30-point victory against the Colonials also marked the first time the Wildcats have beaten a team by 30+ points since they did so on Nov. 20, 2019 against Western Carolina (101-51).
