Women’s Tennis Sweeps UNC Greensboro

Senior Elizabeth “Liz” Truluck defeated her opponent in three sets on Saturday.

 

DAVIDSON, N.C – Davidson womens tennis swept UNC Greensboro 7-0 to capture their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon. The ‘Cats are now 1-1 on the season.

“I am super proud of our team,” head coach Susanne Depka said. “We took what we have been doing in practice and transferred it to matches. They are so much stronger mentally and I am excited to see how far they can go.”

The ‘Cats captured the doubles point after both pairs of Elizabeth Truluck and Mira Gladstone and Emma Heiderscheit and Franny Shea defeated both their opponents, 7-5 and 6-3, respectively. 

Gladstone (6-0, 6-0), Shea (6-0, 6-1)  and Heiderscheit (6-2, 7-5) went on to win their singles matches in two sets, while Truluck defeated her opponent in three, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. 

Josie Schaffer defeated her opponent 7-5, 6-2 and Kavya Patel’s three-set 6-2, 6-7, 6-4 sealed the deal for Davidson.
