Scouting for Food – The Initial Results
Scouts consolidated the food collected.
The initial results are in from last Saturday’s Scouting for Food in Davidson.
Members of the local community donated 1543 bags of food. The Scouts use a rough average of 7 pounds per bag to give an initial estimate of more than 10,000 pounds of food. That’s more than five tons!
While the focus was from Davidson Scouts, Pack and Troop 10 collected 213 bags in Cornelius – an estimated 1491 pounds of food.
The remaining 1330 bags were collected in Davidson and represented approximately 9310 pounds of food. Some Davidson residents opted to drop their bags off at
Ben & Jerry’s – where they got a free breakfast ice cream sundae. They collected 41 bags for approximately 287 pounds of food.
Davidson Scouts want to thank everyone in the community for helping this years “Scouting for Food” campaign.
