Gisolfi-McCready Earns Second Consecutive Track and Field Rookie of the Week Award
Back-to-back Rookie Performer of the Week Award for Aleia Gisolfi-McCready.
DAVIDSON, N.C. – Freshman Aleia Gisolfi-McCready has been named the Women’s Atlantic 10 Rookie Performer of the Week for the second week in a row, announced by the conference Tuesday.
The Lexington, Mass. native won the 200m at the JDL Camel City Invitational with a time of 25.52. She also improved her time in the 400m from 58.88 to 57.63 over this weekend. After the weekend, the freshman sits seventh in conference standings in the 400m and third overall in the 200m in A-10 standings.
Last week, Gisolfi-McCready earned the nod after she won the 500-meter run at the Patriot Game. It was her second career win this season and ran a personal best of 1:16.48. Her first career win was the 400m at the JDL Fast is Flat Invitational earlier in January.
