Garewal Leads Wildcat Golf in Spring Opener

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Highlighted by a final round 2-under 70, senior Viraj Garewal signed for a 54-hole total of 215 (-1) to lead the Davidson men’s golf team with a Top-20 showing at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate hosted by the University of South Alabama.

After carding consecutive scores of 295, Davidson improved nine shots in the final round to post a two-under 286 and come home in 10th place at 876 (295-295-286).

UAB’s Nick Robillard claimed individual medalist by three shots over Chris Vandette (Kent State) with a 54-hole total of 205 (-11).

Florida State (-16), which entered its last 18 holes in third place, fired a tournament-low 15-under Tuesday afternoon to edge nationally-ranked UAB (-15) and capture the team title.
