Congresswoman Alma S. Adams, Ph.D. is honored to announce the 2022 Congressional Art Competition, which is open to Charlotte-Mecklenburg high school students (9th-12th grade) who reside and/or attend school in the 12th Congressional District. Students and teachers may click here to find out if they can participate.

Students are encouraged to submit their best artwork. The winner from the 12th Congressional District will have their art displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one full year alongside the winning pieces from Congressional districts across the country. In addition, the winner will also receive two round-trip tickets to Washington, D.C. to attend the annual awards ceremony.

Similar to years past, there will be a reception for all students who submitted their artwork where the winner will be announced.

This year, we ask that all artwork be matted or framed. Artwork that is not matted or framed will not be accepted. All students who are interested in participating must submit their work via email to Avery Bonifati at [email protected]. At this time, the deadline to submit will be announced at a later date.

If you know of any high school students, please share this information with them and have them email Avery Bonifati at [email protected]. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me at the same email.

Thank you and we look forward seeing all the talented artwork!
