The Katherine M. Bray Women’s Leadership Conference provides women with an interactive, intergenerational exploration of 21st century leadership. During the day, the participants learn from speakers, engage in workshops, and have meaningful conversations. Our mission is to build a culture that supports women leaders at Davidson College and in our community through the exploration of a wide range of strategies for effective leadership, the examination of current issues surrounding leadership, and the development of a network for women leaders.

The theme for 2022 has been aptly titled Femme Forward; The future of women and femmes across industries, to provide a safe and communal space to discuss aspirational and pragmatic solutions for femme issues across a variety of career paths, as we reflect on the unique impact of the pandemic on women, girls, feminine transwomen, and feminine gender-non-conforming people.We hope that everyone leaves the conference with an awareness of issues affecting these populations, as well as having had the opportunity to participate in solution-focused discussions.

The 2022 keynote speakers are Susannah Wellford, founder and CEO of Running Start & Dr. Michelle Meggs, Executive Director the Women & Girls Research Alliance at UNC Charlotte. Ms. Wellford is a Davidson graduate who is passionate about the presence of women and femmes in politics. Dr. Meggs is a womanist-scholar and her work focuses on encouraging black women to embrace the strengths of their womanhood, often deemed extreme by the larger culture.

This is a grand opportunity to network with Davidson College students, which may lead to future opportunities to hire interns or staff.
