College Updates COVID Policy for Remaining Basketball Games

by | Feb 21, 2022

Here’s the latest COVID update from Davidson College.

Effective February 21, 2022, Davidson College athletics will require spectators attending men’s and women’s basketball games inside John M. Belk Arena to either show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID test.

The vaccine requirement applies to fans age 5 and older. Those 12 and older must be fully vaccinated, while children between ages 5-11 will be required to provide proof of at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. To meet the vaccine requirement, spectators must present their COVID-19 vaccination card or digital copy along with a photo ID. Faculty, staff and students can show their College ID as proof due to the college’s vaccination policy.

The negative test requirement also applies to fans age 5 or older. Proof of a negative COVID test can come from a verified test administrator (i.e. CVS, Mako, etc.) or through an at-home test. To meet the negative test requirement, spectators must present a digital copy or photo of the negative test. Test results must have been received within the last 48 hours.

Davidson College’s indoor mask mandate will remain in effect. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early in order to allow additional time for verification and entry. Fans who haven’t already done so are encouraged to download the CLEAR Pass app (for all states) on your smartphones to facilitate entry to games.
