An Evening with the Davidson College Social Justice Theatre Troupe

by | Feb 22, 2022

The members of the newly created Social Justice Theatre Troupe are excited to present their inaugural performance, a staged reading of This Special Place.  Created in collaboration with professional playwright and Davidson alumna Calley N. Anderson, the piece is uniquely Davidson.  Troupe members worked with Anderson to develop a script that they felt represented their lived experiences on Davidson’s campus.  Theatre faculty member Sharon Green is spearheading the troupe and has facilitated its development of original performance material that is integrated into Anderson’s play. As part of the evening, members of the Social Justice Theatre Troupe will facilitate conversation about the topics depicted in the play and invite attendees to join them for “dinner and dialogue.”  When you sign up for a spot, you will have the opportunity to let us know if you would like to join a table at which attendees will take their dinner “to go” and remain masked throughout.  You will also have the opportunity to let us know of other accommodations you might need in order to make this event fully accessible to you.  Please visit this site to get your free ticket to the event.
