New “Summit Green” Campaign Highlights Sustainability Progress
Specialty Coffee Brand Celebrates New “Climate Neutral” Designation with Month-Long Program Featuring Product Rollouts, Social Content and Strategic Partnerships

March 28, 2022 (Davidson, NC) – Earth Day may not be until April 22, but Summit Coffee™ is celebrating the entire month of April with a new month-long marketing campaign, Summit Green, to highlight the company’s progressive sustainability efforts. The multi-channel campaign combines Summit’s focus around Earth Day, and plays off the company’s iconic custom-green brand color. The campaign launches in earnest on Friday, April 1.
Highlighting the Summit Green effort are several announcements and product launches. In addition to its preexisting 1% For The Planet membership and Organic certification, Summit Coffee is now a certified “Climate Neutral” coffee-roasting company, confirming that the company has achieved zero net carbon emissions for all of the carbon it creates while making and delivering its products or services. In addition, Summit is launching new merchandise in partnership with Klean Kanteen® and Recover Brands, also members of 1% For The Planet. These new initiatives come on the heels of Summit removing the surcharge for environmentally friendly alternative milks – one of the first national coffee brands to do so – as well as other in-café efforts, including “Bring Your Own Mug” discounts and a growing effort to reduce waste.
The Summit Green campaign will also include video content, to be posted on social media platforms and on the Summit Coffee website, featuring Summit’s sustainability team and several partner organizations. Furthermore, Summit will host collaborative events throughout the month with Oatly, launch a new travel mug with Summit athlete and ultramarathon runner Courtney Dauwalter, and introduce a new line of handcrafted mugs from popular ceramics brand Jars of Dust and its owner, Mallorie Terranova.
